         FG freezes Peter Obi account the vice presidential candidate of the PDP.   The Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Organisation saturday accused the federal government of freezing bank accounts of its vice presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, his wife, family members and their businesses. In a statement by his National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, the opposition party condemned the stoppage of transactions on all accounts belonging to Obi, his family and businesses by anti-graft agencies. He said that since his nomination, Obi, apart from facing series of failed attempts by the All Progressive Congress (APC) to destroy his reputation, he had also continued to receive all manner of threats and blackmail, including threats to his life and those of his wife and children.    France records another terrifying moment yesterday as over 130.000 protesters storms the streets of Paris with many wounded and properties lost.   French police put on a massive show of force on Saturday to prevent another demonstration by the gilets jaunes from spiralling into violence, at the end of what could prove a defining week for Emmanuel Macron’s presidency. More than 1,000 arrests were made across the country, with a large majority in Paris, during the fourth straight weekend of protests by the gilets jaunes, or yellow vests, a movement which began in response to fuel tax increases but has quickly swollen into a campaign against Mr Macron. The government said 125,000 people came out to block roads and towns throughout France, with 10,000 in Paris. On the first weekend of protest, more than 280,000 people had been on the streets.    Buhari appoints more federal permanent secretary.    President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of nine new permanent secretaries in the Federal Civil Service. The appointment was announced in a statement signed by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita. The list of the successful Federal Permanent Secretaries and their states of origin are as follows: “Dr Bakari Wadinga (Adamawa), Dr M.K. Dikwa (Borno), Dr Ajani Magdalene N. Olor (Delta), Umakhihe Ernest Afolabi (Edo), Mbaeri Maurice Nnamdi (Imo), Babatunde Lawal (Lagos). “Engr. Festus Yusuf Narai Daudu (Nasarawa), Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan (Osun) and Dr Musa Hanafi Moriki (Zamfara).   Buhari reassures the release of remaining Chibok girls.   President Muhammadu Buhari has reaffirmed the pledged that his government will not rest until the remaining Chibok girls kidnapped by Boko Haram terrorists since April 2014 are safely reunited with their families. According to the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Garba Shehu, President Buhari renewed the commitment Monday in Katowice, Poland, at a bilateral meeting with Swiss President Alain Berset, on the margins of the UN Climate Change Conference (COP24). Speaking at a ceremony in Abuja on Monday night, the National Coordinator, Grassroot Mobilisers for Buhari, Yusuf Ardo, accused the Buhari Administration of failing to appoint youths into his government. Hope for Ultra-orthodox Jews as Court rules on 15 January deadline for Israeli government to pass the Ultra-orthodox Jews military service into law. By  Agence France-Presse   -  2 December 2018.    Israel’s supreme court on Sunday extended a deadline for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government to pass a law related to military service for ultra-Orthodox Jews, a measure that could potentially provoke early elections. The court agreed to extend the deadline, which was on Sunday, until January 15, rejecting the government’s request for it to be moved back to the end of March. Netanyahu’s government has been seeking to have a law passed that could gradually see ultra-Orthodox Jewish students serve in the military like their secular counterparts, as mandated by the supreme court.
